Raicilla is a distillate of agave traditionally produced in the Costa-Sierra Occidental, Sierra de Amula and Southern Coast of Jalisco and Nayarit regions. It has obtained the designation of origin in 16 municipalities of Jalisco and one of Nayarit. It is produced with five varieties of wild and semi-cultivated agave; Maximiliana, Angustifolia, Inaequidens, Rhodacantha and Valenciana.
